Child development expert

When my youngest children were small I did a lot of research into how animals played compared to children, which lead to writing my first book for parents, 'Creative Play', about the importance of play for young children. This has been followed by twelve more books on child development and parenting including, 'The golden rules of parenting' about taking the guess work out of parenting and 'The Baby Development Test' a step-by-step guide to baby development from birth to five. My speciality subjects include child development, encouraging play, choosing toys, behavioral problems, children and sleep, tantrums, conflicts in the family, pregnancy, childbirth, preparing to read and maths and learning to write! I have three children called Daniel, Anna and Tom as well as sixteen nephews and nieces, and am the eldest of five children! Ovulating or not??

Asked by mummy2finley.
Hey, Can anyone tell me, if when a woman isnt ovulating, does she still get her periods??? God I sound so dumb!? But my cycles are very irregular, one month it can be as long as 38 days then other months it can be the 'average' 28 days, so I'v started using ovulation tests, have been testing now for the last 6days (started 11days after my 1st period) still with no LH surge present?? But I know I will have a period at the end of the month. So do I ovulate?? Why arnt the tests picking this up?? I feel so stupid or like I'm doing something wrong!! Please help!! aaarrrggghhhhhhhh! x

Kerry Katona and smoking during pregnancy

Asked by charlotteb.
Some of you may have noticed the news story about Kerry Katona not being able to give up smoking during her current pregnancy. I was wondering what you all thought of this? Do you think it's bad? Or do we get bogged down with what you can and can't do during pregnancy? Did any of you smoke during pregnancy and what was the reaction? Would love to know your thoughts? Nifa - gurgle editor

teenage daughter and boyfriend...

Asked by sasssy2000.
urgh sorry need a rant! My daughter is 16 and is a pretty good girl as far as teens go. Her boyfriend is 18, and since he's been around we do nothing but fight! He was kicked out of his home on sunday and Alice begged me to let him stay..so i thought ok-3 days tops, just to keep her happy. Her boyfriend has been chatting up other girls behind her back..we have proof. Alice knows and is standing by him...again, thats her choice and anything to keep her happy. But sometimes he hasnt been getting in till 11;30pm from work, Alice gave him her door key and i cant sleep till i know he's in and she's in bed..im so tired, fed up with being nice to him to keep the peace when i bloody hate him-today she says he's off to stay at his mates who she said is a bad influence on him (apparently he's a flirt)..i was like well he's a big boy, and now she says im anti him/dont like him and she isnt talking to me!! I brake my back to keep her happy..but obviously being a teenager she just doesnt get it. Im so pissed off with him and her that its taking all my will power to keep cool and not flip. Hate how she see's me as the bad one for stating the obvious about her low life b/f..and just need a rant lol xx

Grrrr!!

Asked by Rich1jack.
Hi girls, im looking for a little bit of advice. My boyfriend has 2 sons aged 6 and 9 and just over 3 years ago his wife cheated on him and left him with the boys. I didnt know him before but soon after our sons got friendly and then things developed into something great for me and richard. The man she run off with didnt want to know her after she left richard and since then she has tried to make my life hell. She didnt bother with the children much for the 1st 12 months, maybe seeing them once a week and even then she was letting them down. I was annoyed with richard as he had to pay for a divorce, pay to furnish the house as she took everything and pay to bring the boys up yet she still got the child benefit. To cut a very long story short she doesnt provide for the children however does now have them from after school monday until richard picks them up friday evening. (she has never bought school uniform paid for school trips or even bought them a birthday present) I moved in with richard in november and last night she said that she wanted maintenace off us and if we dont pay up she will go to the CSA. Can anyone give me some advice before she breaks me? sorry to ramble
