Child development expert

When my youngest children were small I did a lot of research into how animals played compared to children, which lead to writing my first book for parents, 'Creative Play', about the importance of play for young children. This has been followed by twelve more books on child development and parenting including, 'The golden rules of parenting' about taking the guess work out of parenting and 'The Baby Development Test' a step-by-step guide to baby development from birth to five. My speciality subjects include child development, encouraging play, choosing toys, behavioral problems, children and sleep, tantrums, conflicts in the family, pregnancy, childbirth, preparing to read and maths and learning to write! I have three children called Daniel, Anna and Tom as well as sixteen nephews and nieces, and am the eldest of five children! Castor Oil

Asked by markyangel.
Hi girls, I am currently 38+5 and experiencing really bad SPD and related pelvic and back pain. Pain relief not working and I am finding it increasingly hard to get any sleep at all. I was reading about various 'natural' ways to induce labour and was contemplating trying a little castor oil. I have read some not too good stories about it and I was just wondering if any of you had tried it, planned to try it or knew anyone who had? Any advice / experiences would be gratefully received!! Thanks

Ex Boyfriend

Asked by Louise8425.
I'm 15 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend finally dumped me on valentines day :-( He'd fallen out of love with me the second he found out I was pregnant in December. I have had to move back home 200 miles away from him and i'm heartbroken. It's my first baby and am totally new to this. Just wondered if anyone has any tips on getting over ex's when I'm already an emotional wreck and now I'm even worse. The last thing I ever wanted was to bring a baby into the world and not have it's daddy near by.

Ovulating or not??

Asked by mummy2finley.
Hey, Can anyone tell me, if when a woman isnt ovulating, does she still get her periods??? God I sound so dumb!? But my cycles are very irregular, one month it can be as long as 38 days then other months it can be the 'average' 28 days, so I'v started using ovulation tests, have been testing now for the last 6days (started 11days after my 1st period) still with no LH surge present?? But I know I will have a period at the end of the month. So do I ovulate?? Why arnt the tests picking this up?? I feel so stupid or like I'm doing something wrong!! Please help!! aaarrrggghhhhhhhh! x

Kerry Katona and smoking during pregnancy

Asked by nifagurgleEditor.
Some of you may have noticed the news story about Kerry Katona not being able to give up smoking during her current pregnancy. I was wondering what you all thought of this? Do you think it's bad? Or do we get bogged down with what you can and can't do during pregnancy? Did any of you smoke during pregnancy and what was the reaction? Would love to know your thoughts? Nifa - gurgle editor
